The Ka-Bar Black Fighting Knife (1214) - Combo Edge, is a modernized version of the legendary Ka-Bar 1217 knife, created for the needs of the United States Navy during World War II. Aggressive, partially serrated blade, secured with a double-sided guard, embedded in a Kraton elastomer handle, finished with a massive steel head.
The Black Fighting Knife (1214) from Ka-Bar has a partially serrated Clip Point blade with a flat cut, made of one piece of high-quality 1095 Cro-Van carbon steel with an admixture of chrome and vanadium, 4.3 millimeters thick. The blade has a small ricasso above the crossguard, a wide, shallow, double-sided fuller and a false cutting edge on the spine at the top of the blade. In order to eliminate light reflections and protect the steel against external factors, the blade was covered with black powder paint.
The handle of the modernized USMC knife is made of Kraton G elastomer (thermoplastic rubber). This material is characterized by high resistance to heat, weather conditions and chemicals, while maintaining flexibility and adhesion. The use of this material significantly improved the grip and stability compared to the legendary original. Handle It has a prominent, double-sided steel guard that prevents your hand from slipping onto the blade, and a solid steel head that can be used as an improvised hammer.
The set with the knife includes a light and extremely durable sheath made of the GFN-PA66 composite (nylon hardened with glass fiber), adapted to conveniently carry the knife on a belt in a vertical position, and thanks to many attachment and anchoring points compatible with the MOLLE/PALS system, without any obstacles you can install it in any section of your inventory.
