The Mule knife from Ka-Bar has a Clip Point blade made of Japanese AUS 8A steel with a thickness of 3.3 millimeters. The steel is protected with a black Teflon anti-reflective coating. It has a high hollow cut, ending with a serrated cutting edge at the base and a plain cutting edge at the top of the blade. The knife blade is extracted from the handle using a double-sided stud at the base of the blade. The knife is equipped with a Lockback, which prevents the knife from folding during operation. The blade has a fold on the spine at the base of the blade, which provides good support for the thumb when cutting precisely and improves the shortened handle of the knife.
The ergonomic knife handle, made of steel, is complemented with black Zytel® polyamide linings. Zytel® is a polyamide reinforced with glass fiber, characterized by low weight and high resistance to weather conditions and mechanical damage. The linings have additional rubber inserts, thanks to which the knife fits securely in the hand and does not slip even in unfavorable weather conditions. A delicate recess under the index finger serves as a slight guard, preventing the hand from slipping onto the knife blade. The handle is equipped with a pocket clip in the tip-up position with the possibility of re-installation under the left hand. There is a hole in the handle head for a wrist safety lanyard.
The knife comes with a black nylon pocket, closed with a Velcro flap, allowing you to conveniently carry the tool on a belt or any carrier compliant with MOLLE/PALS standards.
