Products That Made History

  • 1976
    Driven by the transition to mechanized limbing in forestry, the founders of Sordin developed the first hearing protector in the late 1970s. Although the product was not mass-produced, it became the impetus for founding Vikmanshyttans Plastfabrik—the predecessor of today's Sordin. From the beginning, we focused on "safety above the neck"—hearing protection, eye protection, and industrial helmets—which remains our mission to this day.

  • 1987
    The introduction of Sordin Classic in 1987 was a clear message to the industry: "Use this product to protect the health and safety of your employees!" Available in three noise attenuation versions and designed for durability in the toughest conditions, Sordin Classic was a breakthrough in occupational safety. After almost 40 years, we still don't know of a passive hearing protector that surpasses this classic model.

  • 1998
    Durability was crucial when we designed the first version of Sordin Supreme. Based on a military model, the hunting version of Sordin Supreme was introduced in 1998 to enhance hunters' safety and effectiveness. From the outset, Sordin Supreme has been the first choice due to its unparalleled reproduction of ambient sounds, offering natural sound perception and improving situational and directional awareness.

    In 2014, the Sordin left/RIGHT series joined our lineup—a stylish brand preferred by racing teams and Hollywood stars. Behind the sleek design lies a family of super-ergonomic, high-end hearing protectors, ranging from robust passive models to advanced electronic ones. The characteristic, symmetrical design of the earmuffs makes these extravagant protectors fit perfectly on everyone.

  • 2018
    The introduction of the passive Sordin Seal in 2018 was a strategic move. In response to the growing interest in electronic products, we identified a lack of a modern, high-quality passive hearing protector on the market. Sordin Seal redefined standards of quality and usability, and the fact that it served as a model for our electronic models Sordin Sharp and Sordin Share speaks to its uniqueness.

  • 2020
    The year 2020 brought a new level of excellence with the introduction of Sordin Sharp, aimed at professionals. With built-in Bluetooth® Multipoint functionality, this technologically advanced model is an invaluable tool for enhancing safety and productivity. It allows simultaneous connection to two devices—for example, a mobile phone and a radio—and easy switching between them using an external keypad. Navigation is intuitive thanks to voice prompts.

    Following the success of Sordin Sharp, in 2021 we introduced Sordin Share—the most advanced hearing protector on the market. It's not just a protector but a fully-fledged communication solution for mobile work teams. Forget about additional devices—everything you need is built into Sordin Share, elevating collaboration efficiency to a new level.

  • 2023
    In 2023, the sound quality of the Sordin Supreme Pro-X was further enhanced. All models from this year onward are equipped with the new, advanced SordinHEAR2™ audio system. Hunters will appreciate four new sound profiles—Hunting, Shooting, Focus, and Comms—which allow for adjusting audio reception to the current situation, optimizing comfort and effectiveness.

  • 2024
    At the beginning of the year, we introduced two new product series: the tactical military-grade Sordin Supreme T2 for uniformed services, and the Sordin Supreme X2BT with Bluetooth®, designed specifically for hunters and recreational shooters. Both models are based on the new modular SordinFLEX™ platform, allowing users to personalize their headset using dedicated accessories. The first deliveries of T2 and X2BT are planned for the first quarter of 2025.
