The Ka-Bar Becker Combat Utility knife (BK7) is a massive survival knife with a Full Tang construction, made of Cro-Van class 1095 carbon steel, equipped with an extremely durable Ultramid handle, designed by Ethan Becker, founder of the BK&T company, which in 2009 year, together with Ka-Bar, it issued a series of Becker Knives.
The Ka-Bar Becker Combat Utility knife (BK7) has a large and massive blade with a Clip Point profile, made of carbon steel with an admixture of chrome and vanadium Cro-Van 1095, 4.8 millimeters thick. The blade has a high flat cut, ending with a plain cutting edge. The entire blade is covered with a layer of black epoxy powder paint to protect the steel against external factors and eliminate light reflections. On the back of the knife, at the base of the handle, there is a large, corrugated thumb ramp, improving comfort and precision of work with a shortened grip of the knife. An additional advantage of the Becker Combat Utility knife is the notch that begins the cutting edge.
The knife has an ergonomic handle made of Ultramid, so it fits perfectly in the hand, and the delicately textured surface of the handle lining guarantees a firm grip even with a wet hand. The base of the blade has a prominent guard protecting the user against accidentally sliding his hand onto the blade. The handle also has an exposed head, which is a prominent glass breaker that can successfully act as an improvised hammer. The handle has a hole in the head, intended for a wrist safety lanyard.
The knife comes with a polyester sheath with an additional Kydex blade cover, adapted to carry the knife on a belt and more. The knife cover is compliant with MOLLE/PALS standards, which allows for any installation on modular platforms compliant with this standard. The sheath is equipped with a small, closed pocket with additional Kydex reinforcement, dedicated to carrying a smaller knife, e.g. model - BK13 from Ka-Bar or similar. The cover is equipped with a snap strap that covers and stabilizes the knife handle.
