The Ka-Bar ARMY The Legend (1219) knife, made in America, is a refreshed version of the legendary Ka-Bar 1217 knife, created for the needs of the United States Navy during World War II. An aggressive, partially serrated blade, secured with a double-sided guard, embedded in a buffalo leather handle, finished with a massive steel pommel.
The ARMY The Legend (1219) knife from Ka-Bar has a partially serrated Clip Point blade with a flat cut, made of one piece of high-quality 1095 Cro-Van carbon steel with an admixture of chrome and vanadium, 4.3 millimeters thick. The blade has a small ricasso above the crossguard with an embossed U.S. ARMY mark, a wide, shallow, double-sided fuller and a false cutting edge on the spine at the top of the blade. In order to eliminate light reflections and protect the steel against external factors, the blade was covered with black powder paint.
The handle of the ARMY The Legend knife is made of pressed buffalo leather discs. It has a prominent, double-sided steel guard that prevents your hand from slipping onto the blade, and a solid steel head that can be used as an improvised hammer.
The knife comes with an elegant leather sheath, designed to carry the knife on a belt in a vertical position. The scabbard is decorated with an embossed Ka-Bar brand mark, coat of arms and U.S. ARMY markings. It is equipped with a loop holding the handle, fastened with a steel latch.
