The Ka-Bar Becker Crewman knife (BK10) from the American manufacturer is a massive survival knife with a one-piece Full Tang construction, designed by Ethan Becker, the founder of the BK&T company, which in 2009, together with the Ka-Bar company, issued a series of Becker Knives.
The Ka-Bar Becker Crewman knife (BK10) is a solid survival knife with a Full Tang construction, made of Cro-Van grade 1095 stainless steel, equipped with an extremely durable handle made of BASF polyamide, under the trade name Ultramid®.
The Becker Crewman knife (BK10) has a large Clip Point blade with a plain cutting edge, made of carbon steel with an admixture of chromium and vanadium Cro-Van 1095, 5 millimeters thick. The entire blade was covered with a layer of black powder paint to protect the steel against external factors and eliminate light reflections. On the back of the knife at the base of the handle, there is a substantial, notched ramp for the thumb, improving the comfort and precision of work with a shortened grip of the knife. An additional advantage of the Becker Crewman knife is the notch that starts the cutting edge.
The knife has an ergonomic handle made of Ultramid, thanks to which the knife fits perfectly in the hand, and the slightly textured surface of the handle cladding guarantees a secure grip even with a wet hand. The base of the blade has a prominent crossguard protecting the user against accidental slipping of the hand onto the blade. The handle also has an exposed head, which is a prominent glass breaker that will successfully take the role of an improvised hammer. The handle has a hole in the head, intended for a wrist lanyard.
In the set with the knife, we get a polyester sheath, adapted to carry the knife on the belt and more. The knife sheath complies with the MOLLE/PALS standards, which allows for any assembly on modular platforms compliant with this standard. The scabbard is equipped with a small pocket fastened with a Velcro flap, thanks to which the equipment for the care and maintenance of the knife can always be at hand (maintenance and care equipment is not included). The sheath is equipped with two snap straps, covering and stabilizing the knife handle.
