The ESEE Model 6 is the largest fixed blade knife from the American brand. Despite the really large size, this tool is a compromise between the huge power reserve of the Model 5 and the practicality and usability of versions 3 and 4.
Like other knives in the series, the Model 6 ESEE is also made of the valued 1095 carbon steel. The material is characterized by high resistance to cracks and chipping, making it ideal for large, off-road tools. Due to its high carbon content, however, the steel is susceptible to corrosion. To prevent it, the model head was covered with a protective powder coating. The handle of the knife is made of natural canvas micarta laminate, which guarantees adequate resistance to both mechanical damage and the effects of various substances. In addition, the 3D version has a suitably shaped handle, which is to provide an even better grip when working with a knife.
The shape of the knife clearly refers to the smaller products in the series. Like models 3 and 4, also the ESEE Model 6 has a blade with a drop point profile and a high, flat cut, which provides the blade with excellent cutting properties. The blade, as in the smaller versions, was equipped with an undercut for the index finger and transverse ribs of the spine. Thanks to this, despite its large dimensions, the knife is also suitable for more precise work. The handle is somewhat a match between the solutions known from models 3 and 4 and the more profiled grip of the model 5. Thanks to this, the shape obtained is characterized by exceptional versatility, suitable for both lighter work and, for example, chopping or baring. As in the other knives in the series, at the end of the grip there is a hole for a securing rope and a glass breaker.
The knife comes with a practical sheath made of thermoformed plastic. The good fit of the material makes the ESEE Model 6 completely safe and can be quickly pulled out. Numerous holes allow the knife to be attached to equipment, e.g. a backpack, and the attached mounting systems allow it to be worn e.g. on a belt or in a pocket.
The ESEE Model 6 Tactical is a knife for heavy field tasks, but it is much more versatile than the "armored" Model 5. This makes it better for activities such as bushcraft or survival, during which the knife must be carried in your equipment.
