The Ka-Bar Foliage Green Fighting Knife (5012) is a modernized version of the legendary Ka-Bar 1217 knife, created for the United States Navy during World War II. Aggressive, partially serrated blade, secured with a double-sided guard, embedded in a Foliage Green Kraton elastomer handle, finished with a massive steel head.
The Foliage Green Fighting Knife (5012) from Ka-Bar has a partially serrated Clip Point blade with a flat cut, made of one piece of high-quality 1095 Cro-Van carbon steel with an admixture of chrome and vanadium, 4.3 millimeters thick. The blade has a small ricasso above the crossguard, a wide, shallow, double-sided fuller and a false cutting edge on the spine at the top of the blade. In order to eliminate light reflections and protect the steel against external factors, the blade was covered with black powder paint.
The handle of the 5012 knife is made of Kraton G elastomer (thermoplastic rubber) in Foliage Green color, matching the UCP camouflage. This material is characterized by high resistance to heat, weather conditions and chemicals, while maintaining flexibility and adhesion. The use of this material significantly improved the grip and stability compared to the legendary original. Handle It has a prominent, double-sided steel guard that prevents your hand from slipping onto the blade, and a solid steel head that can be used as an improvised hammer.
The set with the knife includes a light and extremely durable GFN-PA66 composite cover (nylon hardened with glass fiber) in Foliage Green color, adapted to conveniently carry the knife on a belt in a vertical position, and thanks to many attachment and anchoring points compatible with the MOLLE/ PALS, we can easily install it in any section of our equipment.
