The Ontario Spec Plus SP-24 USN-1 Survival Knife (8688) is made of high-carbon steel. It provides good strength and cutting aggression. Unfortunately, it is also susceptible to corrosion. For this reason, the knife has been covered with a special zinc phosphate coating. In addition to protecting against rust, it also prevents the formation of scratches.
