The Ka-Bar Short Black Fighting Knife (1256) is a shortened version of the Ka-Bar Black Fighting Knife 1211, which is a modernized version of the legendary Ka-Bar USMC 1217 knife from the World War II period. An aggressive blade, secured with a double-sided guard, embedded in a black Kraton elastomer handle, finished with a massive steel head.
The Short Black Fighting Knife (1256) from Ka-Bar has a plain edge Clip Point-shaped blade with a flat cut, made of one piece of high-quality 1095 Cro-Van carbon steel with an admixture of chrome and vanadium, 4.3 millimeters thick. The blade has a small ricasso above the crossguard, a wide, shallow, double-sided fuller and a false cutting edge on the spine at the top of the blade. In order to eliminate light reflections and protect the steel against external factors, the blade was covered with black powder paint.
The handle of the 1256 knife is made of Kraton G elastomer (thermoplastic rubber) in black. This material is characterized by high resistance to heat, weather conditions and chemicals, while maintaining flexibility and adhesion. The use of this material significantly improved the grip and stability compared to the legendary original. Handle It has a prominent, double-sided steel guard that prevents your hand from slipping onto the blade, and a solid steel head that can be used as an improvised hammer.
The knife comes with an elegant black leather sheath, designed to carry the knife on a belt in a vertical position. The scabbard is decorated with the embossed Ka-Bar brand logo. It is equipped with a loop holding the handle, fastened with a steel latch.
