The small, eighteen-liter capacity is perfect for several-hour field trips or short tactical operations. Thanks to its compact form and low weight, the product also works great as an urban EDC backpack. Thanks to the use of a comfortable carrying system made of thermoformed technical foam, it will provide greater comfort than most models available on the market, providing excellent ergonomics combined with the extraordinary lightness of this solution. The use of modular solutions in the form of numerous mounting platforms in the MOLLE/PALS and Hook-and-Loop systems, leaves a lot of freedom to personalize the backpack.
For the production of the Modular Daypack L backpack, the famous Cordura® 700 denier was used for the outer covering and the light Nylon 420 den HD polyamide fabric was used for the inner lining and pocket interiors. Cordura® 700D is a fabric typical of Tasmanian Tiger brand products. The manufacturer was the first in Europe to use it for the production of tactical equipment, appreciating its incredible strength and durability. All zippers used in the model are durable products of the renowned YKK® brand, and acetal elements, characterized by extraordinary resistance to wear, are products supplied by the Woojin plastic® brand.
CORDURA® 700 Den. Composition: 100% polyamide.
CORDURA® with a fiber thickness of 700 den is a combination of high wear and tear resistance of classic 1000 den fabric with the lightness of a fabric with a fiber thickness of 500 den. This material is characterized by long-term stability, high abrasion and tear resistance.
Nylon 420 Den HD. Composition: 100% polyamide.
The classic 420 den nylon material has proven itself in the "high density" (HD) version as a good, very flexible base material. The 420 den yarn gives it very high tear resistance. The material is waterproof thanks to the triple PU coating.
ACETAL. Composition: 100% acetal
Acetal is a crystalline thermoplastic polymer material. Acetal is characterized by excellent tensile strength, stiffness, surface hardness and chemical resistance. Acetal is characterized by excellent bending memory and retention of properties under repeated loading. The normal temperature range for short-term use is from -40°F to +270°F (-40°C to +132°C). Acetal is recommended for high-demand applications, and Tasmanian Tiger uses this material for the production of backpack buckles. Physical properties remain constant over a wide range of temperatures, relative humidity and weather conditions.
The backpack, despite its small capacity, has a body that is large enough to hold a small mobile computer (15.4") with a case (TT Modular Laptop Case no.: 7802). The backpack's design is based on a single cargo compartment, inside which there is a large Velcro MOLLE panel on the back wall and a flat slot pocket on the inside of the opening front. The laser-cut panel placed inside has 4 columns adapted for anchoring additional equipment by means of strapping. Each of the columns has 9 rows of tapes (10 cut slots) in a standard compatible with MOLLE/PALS, additionally the entire panel is covered with soft loop Velcro, allowing for the attachment of equipment with Velcro (Hook-and-Loop system). The pocket located inside the main compartment is ideal for carrying documentation or a map, is roomy and takes up almost the entire surface of the front flap. Inside the main chamber, there are also 3 large acetal D-rings (model: Smoothy Hydee), one on the front side in the central point of the peak and two on the sides of the peak of the rear wall. Between the two aforementioned rings, there is a hole for the hydration system tube. Importantly, the D-ring system allows for the adjustment of the method of attaching hydration bladders.
Lasercut® technology was also used on the outer surface of the backpack body to ensure the possibility of personalizing the backpack by installing additional pouches and pockets based on modular systems on the resulting MOLLE platform. The panels on the front of the backpack, large and small, were separated by a small and shallow pocket, fastened with a zipper and have different dimensions. The larger of the panels has 5 MOLLE columns with 6 rows of webbing (7 slots), and the smaller one located under the pocket has only 3 columns with 1 webbing (2 slots) and can be used as an anchor point for a small pocket, dangler or straps for anchoring a sleeping bag, burrow tent or sleeping mat. On the side walls of the backpack, just below the end of the zipper opening the main compartment, there are also two smaller mounting panels with 2 anchor columns with 3 rows of webbing (4 slots), which are ideal for installing external baskets for a thermos or a water bottle. The use of Lasercut® technology, unlike classic PALS straps, allows for reducing the weight of the backpack, while ensuring adequate structural strength and stability of the additional equipment installed. On the front of the backpack, above the MOLLE installation platforms, there is a deep pocket with a zipper (the pocket reaches all the way to the bottom of the front flap of the backpack). It is perfect for storing maps or documents useful while traveling. Above the aforementioned pocket, there is a large panel of soft Velcro. It allows for easy personalization of the backpack, such as placing markings, name tags, or so-called morale patches.
The backpack carrying system, which consists of thermoformed back made of technical foam covered with T-STRETCH fabric and shoulder straps lined with the same foam and mesh fabric (Heavy Mesh) is a new technology of the German company - TT Thermo Mold carrying system. It provides an optimal, ergonomic shape, adjusted to the body shape, guarantees appropriate cushioning and ventilation, which translates into comfort, especially when worn for long periods. Comfortable, wide shoulder straps with full adjustment minimize the occurrence of abrasions during use (adjustment based on regulators model: Standard Release Curved Lock). Additionally, each of the shoulder straps has a D-ring (model: Smoothy Hydee), located at the height of the collarbone after putting on the backpack, which allows you to conveniently attach the mouthpiece of the hydration tube on the selected side. The shoulder straps also have a chest strap, which allows you to stabilize the backpack when put on. The chest strap is lined with additional elastic tape on one side, has a quick release buckle fastening with two-sided adjustment (model: Dual Adjustable Champion). The belt is mounted on vertical runs of the webbing tape via removable regulators (model: Smoothy Open TQ patented by Woojin plastic®) and allows for height adjustment, which significantly translates into comfort of use. The backpack also has a strong handle at the top, made of Cordura and stiffened with dense foam filling, allowing for comfortable carrying in the hand and simplifying loading / unloading from the luggage space of means of transport.
The backpack is equipped with two rows of compression straps, which allow you to easily and effectively reduce its volume when you are not using the entire internal space. The compression straps are attached to eyelets (model: Smoothy Loop) located on the edge of the back and side wall of the backpack and run through further eyelets (model: Smoothy Loop) located on the edge of the front and side wall, thanks to which they are constantly stabilized in one line surrounding the body. The straps can be easily removed, as they are attached via an interlacing through the regulator (model: Smoothy Lock, patented by Woojin plastic®). Each of the compression straps is fastened with a double-sided adjustable quick release buckle (model: Dual Adjustable Champion) and has additional elastic loops to secure excess tape. The backpack also has additional anchor points based on the previously mentioned eyelets, located on the sides right at the lower edge of the back, dedicated to the installation of a hip belt, used to stabilize the backpack with an increased load. The hip belt anchor points are the same size as the compression strap anchor points and a great solution is to use the lower body compression as a hip belt after weaving it to a lower level.
