A solid and durable Survival Hatchet from Schrade, made of a steel head mounted on a fiberglass shaft. Completed with a handle made of thermoplastic TPR rubber, for a more secure grip even with a wet hand. It has an ferrocerium rod hidden in the handle.
The head of the Survival Hatchet (SCAXE2) is made of 3Cr13 stainless steel, coated with titanium nitride, for protection against corrosion and external factors. The head, in addition to a smooth cutting edge, is equipped with a solid hammer with a corrugated surface, which is ideal for driving wood piles or breaking small rocks.
The shaft of the Survival Hatchet from Schrade is made of fiberglass with an admixture of polyamide, thanks to which, in addition to adequate stiffness, we also obtain anti-vibration properties. On the shaft there is a handle with an additional layer of non-slip, thermoplastic TPR rubber, thanks to which the hatchet lies securely even in a wet hand. Inside the shaft, from the side of the handle, there is a compartment with an ferrocerium rod, designed to generate ignition sparks.
The hatchet comes complete with a thermoformed, polypropylene head cover, fastened with a steel latch and attached to a belt with a maximum width of 50 millimeters.
