The Benchmade Adamas 275GY-1 is a modernized version of the Adamas tactical knife, designed by the respected knifemaker Shane Sibert. The line of Benchmade Adamas knives is a collection of extremely durable and versatile tools that have been designed for professional users, such as uniformed services, army or survival enthusiasts. The name "Adamas" comes from the Greek word meaning "invincible" or "steadfast", which perfectly reflects the nature of these knives.
The knife has an effective blade with a drop point profile, made of ultra-hard CPM-CruWear steel, hardened to a hardness of 63-65 HRC. With excellent wear resistance and strength, CPM-Cruwear can be described as twice as good as original D2 steel. The new formula has been enriched with vanadium, tungsten and molybdenum additives, which give the steel exceptional wear resistance and allow for high hardening. When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, because sharpening using a standard ceramic whetstone can be very laborious and ineffective.
In addition, the blade of the knife is protected with a brown cerakote coating, which protects against minor scratches and emphasizes the tactical nature of the knife. The blade has a strong point and a flat grind, which guarantees a smooth cut and easy penetration.
The back section of the spine was raised and transverse cutters were made on it, allowing for stable finger support during work. Such parameters guarantee the functionality and durability of the knives and make them suitable for demanding tasks.
The flagship Benchmade mechanism, the double-sided Axis-lock lock, is responsible for work safety, valued for its enormous mechanical strength, resistance to dirt and ease of use for right and left-handed users. The blade can be conveniently and quickly unfolded with one hand using a double-sided pin, which is convenient for right and left-handed people.
The knife is equipped with precision-machined 3D G10 handle. The glass-epoxy laminate used is characterized by low weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature changes, as well as the action of many acids and solvents. The contoured shape combined with transverse milling and the rough texture of the material ensure excellent grip of the knife and comfort in use. The semi-open design of the handle makes it easy to keep the knife clean.
