Ti-Lite Ti-Lite G10 6" is an interesting, slim everyday folder from the Cold Steel brand. The American manufacturer has been one of the market leaders for years, constantly expanding the range of knives for various applications. A large part of the assortment are typical military and tactical constructions.
The company's designers are also inspired by classic knives from around the world. The same is the case here, Ti-Lite is a folder modeled after the traditional Italian stiletto.
S35VN steel was used for the blade. This is an improved version of the classic S35V, which has been eagerly used for years in premium products of the best knife brands, such as Spyderco. The addition of niobium makes the steel noticeably more durable and equally resistant to wear. The S35VN also has a much finer grain structure than its predecessor. In order to increase corrosion resistance and avoid glare, the blade is covered with a black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating.
The handle is made of the classic G-10 polymer. The material, which is in fact an epoxy-glass laminate, is primarily characterized by very high strength. The popular G-10 can cope with both mechanical damage, moisture, temperature, and even substances such as acids or solvents.
The shape of the Cold Steel Ti-Lite directly refers to the Italian stiletto folding knives. The slim design makes it convenient in everyday use, even despite the large length of the blade. The false blade guarantees high penetration of the tip. The medium grinding height, in turn, translates into good cutting characteristics. The shape of the handle is also very similar to classic designs. The simple form ensures great versatility and many gripping possibilities. Widening its end ensures that the knife does not slip out of your hand. The flipper, when unfolded, forms a prominent handguard, which, in turn, protects against accidental slipping of the hand on the cutting edge.
Cold Steel Ti-Lite can be opened with a pin or a flipper. A spring lock holds the blade securely in place. A convenient clip allows you to carry the knife, for example in a pocket or on a belt.
The American brand folder is an excellent proposition for people who value high quality and interesting design. The design referring to the Italian stiletto in a modernized version is characterized by great practicality and versatility.
