Cold Steel 2.5" Engage Clip Point (FL25DPLC) is a small folding knife that has been equipped with the new Atlas blade lock. Despite its size, it is an excellent choice when looking for a discreet and universal EDC knife at an affordable price.
The knife in this version has a Clip Point blade with a smooth cut, made of German 4116 steel, which has good cutting properties and is easy to sharpen even in field conditions. There is a double-sided pin on the blade, allowing you to easily open the knife with one hand.
The blade, when unfolded, is secured with the latest Atlas lock, which uses a modern, sliding action. To release the lock, simply push the textured part towards the back of the handle. The blade can be safely closed with one hand by placing the back of the handle in your hand and pulling the lock back with your index finger. As it is located in the middle back of the handle, it allows for easy two-handed operation.
Continuing the Cold Steels tradition of building the strongest and safest folding knives, the Atlas® Lockout has been rigorously tested against the legendary Triad® Lock. The same load tests have shown that the Atlas® lock is able to withstand more shocks and hold even more weight. The point where the locking bar meets the blade pin is between the two pins, giving it a unique mechanical advantage. By distributing the force, only half of the total force is applied to each pin.
Properly shaped handle linings are made of a very light and durable GFN polymer, which provides a good grip when operating the knife. At the end of the handle there is also a hole for a safety cord, which will allow you to conveniently pull the knife out of your pocket or will provide additional hand protection when working with a knife.
Comfortable carrying is ensured by a spring steel clip that allows you to easily attach the knife to a belt or to the edge of a pocket.
