The Condor Pangui CTK802-3.26HC is a small, practical knife for universal use. The company from El Salvador has accustomed knife lovers to producing, above all, simple, functional tools. The brand's products are often characterized by a strict, classic style, while drawing on traditional patterns and solutions. The Pangui model is a neck knife designed by the famous survival expert - Walter A. Matthews. He spent over 20 years in the Chilean Marine Corps, and for over fifteen years he has been running the first survival school in Chile. It is from the local language, Mapadungún, that the knife's name, literally meaning puma, comes from.
The Condor Pangui blade is made of the valued 1095 steel. This high-carbon material is characterized by very good resistance to cracks and chipping as well as abrasion resistance, thanks to which it perfectly maintains the working sharpness of the tool. Unfortunately, the steel is not stainless, so to protect against corrosion, the blade has a natural texture, which at the same time gives the knife a raw character. The handle of the Pangui model also uses a traditional material - American walnut wood. The material, thanks to its hardness, guarantees high durability. The natural pattern of wood gives the tool a classic look.
The shape of the Condor Pangui knife is reminiscent of a puma claw, the model of which owes its name. The chunky blade with a drop point profile is perfect for cutting, and its length is perfect for precise work. The model uses a scandi cut, which is eagerly used in survival knives. The optimal angle ensures good cutting properties, while at the same time guaranteeing great edge strength. The handle is mounted with two brass pins, is characterized by a simple shape with a slight profiling. The simplicity of the form allows for comfortable use of various grips, while the appropriate widening of its ends - work ergonomics and safety. The tip of the handle is shaped so that it can be used as a hammer. There is a hole at the end of the grip for an additional securing cable.
The set with the Condor Pangui knife comes with a practical and aesthetic sheath. It was made of durable, natural cowhide leather. Hand-made guarantees perfect aesthetics and attention to detail. The scabbard is designed to be worn around the neck, which will be helped by the ball chain attached to it. An additional snap fastener is responsible for safety, which reliably protects the knife against accidental sliding out.
Condor Pangui is a great tool, perfect for both everyday and field use. The designer, Walter A. Matthews, put into the knife not only his heart, but also a great deal of experience, creating a model characterized not only by its original design, but also by great practicality. Neck can easily be used as an element of the urban EDC, or a convenient backup when performing bushcraft or survival activities.
