Ontario Spec Plus Alpha Survival (9710) is another knife model from the Spec Plus series, in which were designed that are intended to serve soldiers, uniformed services officers, survivalists and rescuers. Knives additionally marked with the Alpha name are even more oriented towards outdoor activities and are characterized by a more modern design.
The material used in the production of the knife is high-carbon steel. It guarantees very good cutting aggression and cutting edge strength. However, it is susceptible to corrosion, so the manufacturer decided to cover it with a special protective coating made of zinc phosphate. It also protects the blade from scratches. Hardening at the level of 57-59HRC ensures very high hardness of the blade. The handle is made of synthetic rubber. It provides great grip to the hand and transmits vibrations very well. Thanks to this, the hand is less tired while working, minimizing the risk of injury.
The set includes a nylon sheath, for convenient carrying the knife at the belt.
