For years, the Tenacious has been regarded as a reliable “workhorse” in the American manufacturer’s offerings—combining a proven design with an affordable price and outstanding functionality. CPM M4 is a specialized high-speed tool steel produced using the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. Its unique composition features a high content of vanadium, molybdenum, tungsten, and chromium carbides, which ensure extraordinary wear resistance, excellent edge retention, and notable toughness. Although CPM M4 is not stainless (unlike 8Cr13MoV or CPM S35VN), it offers above-average edge endurance—a characteristic appreciated by both custom knifemakers and BladeSports competition participants. To keep the blade in top condition, you simply need to devote a bit more attention to preventing moisture exposure, for instance by wiping and oiling it regularly.
