Native 5 Lockback Plain is the next, already the fifth, development version of the famous model of the American brand Spyderco. The knife, introduced as early as 1997, was initially produced especially for the Wal-Mart chain and sold exclusively through it. The name Native was due to the fact that it was entirely produced in the United States. The first model in the series turned out to be a real sales hit and the company quickly decided to distribute it more widely. Over time, the materials or design solutions were changed in subsequent models, improving the ergonomics of the folder. The latest model, Spyderco Native 5 is a well-designed, innovative premium knife that will be perfect for everyday use.
The model's blade is made of high-quality CPM S35VN powder steel. This material is very popular due to its high corrosion resistance, excellent cutting aggression and long maintenance of the working sharpness. Native's cladding is made of durable FRN material - Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon. At the beginning of the spine, there are clear, transverse ribs that support the thumb, allowing you to comfortably perform precise tasks. Simple, profiled handle provides excellent ergonomics of the grip. Widening its front part prevents accidental slipping of your hand on the blade. A deep undercut for the finger on the connection of the blade and the handle allows you to conveniently change the grip, obtaining even better control over the tool.
The Spyderco Native 5 unfolds using the classic, round SpyderHole. Thanks to this, it is fully one-handed and is suitable for both left and right-handed users. The lock used in the model is a strong backlock that securely protects the fingers against accidental folding of the knife. The folder is equipped with a convenient, four-position clip that allows it to be attached, for example, to the edge of a pocket. There is a hole at the end of the handle that allows you to thread a safety rope.
