The AKU Selvatica Tactical Mid GTX boots are designed for fast movement in complete comfort, mainly for land and airborne special forces units operating in various terrain conditions. Super-lightweight, waterproof and breathable, they ensure safe and stable movement in any dynamic working conditions. Particularly suited to areas with moderate to hot climates, with a suggested temperature range of -10°C to 45°C and relative humidity of 0% RH to 80% RH (when combined with appropriate socks).
The mid-height upper is made of PU-coated AIR 8000® fabric, which is said to provide lightweight durability. It's also the main component of the AKU-designed system that ensures the highest level of breathability in footwear. Thanks to the specially made fabric, whose level of breathability increases within 24 hours and achieves up to 11.5 times the breathability of conventionally made fabric.
The shoe's lining uses a GORE-TEX Extended Comfort membrane, which is designed without a single layer of insulation and is mainly dedicated to summer footwear. As a result, the shoe provides efficient heat dissipation and better ventilation. The membrane is particularly popular in summer trekking and tactical boots. It will perform best for use in moderate to warm conditions, with intense activity, both outdoors and indoors.
The construction of the sole was developed using Elica's unique Natural Stride System technology, which involves the integration of the individual components of the shoe's bottom, insole, midsole and outsole. Thanks to the integrated design of these components, each pair of AKU shoes follows the anatomical shape of the foot, so it adapts to the normal slope of the heel and forefoot to absorb impact and reduce strain. The outsole, Vibram Selvatica with MegaGrip, was developed specifically for AKU and is based on the Megagrip rubber compound, providing excellent grip and traction even on wet surfaces.
