Luzon Medium is a proposal of a very large folder from the American Cold Steel brand. For years, the company has been offering its supporters interesting, bold constructions, which, apart from great quality of workmanship, also offer a very high so-called fun-factor, which is simply the pleasure of having and using them. The Large Luzon is a knife from this category, although it does not diminish its practicality in any way.
The folder was designed by the famous knifemaker - Mike Wallace. Although structurally it is a typical folder, its design refers to the famous ballisongs, the so-called butterfly knives from the Philippines.
The popular 8Cr13MoV steel was used for the Cold Steel Large Luzon blade. This material is often used by leading manufacturers for more budget knife series. Steel provides a very good ratio of parameters such as sharpness, cutting aggression, easy sharpening and corrosion resistance. It is perfect for everyday use knives, and at the same time products made of it are affordable for most users. The handle is made of nylon reinforced with glass fiber. This material is primarily characterized by high strength. The material is not only not very sensitive to mechanical damage, but also copes with moisture and extreme temperatures.
The original, characteristic shape of Cold Steel Luzon refers to Filipino ballisongs. The long blade has a penetrating, yet durable tip. The high, flat cut ensures excellent cutting parameters, and the deep shavings make the blade even slimmer. A prominent flipper for opening, after unfolding it is a crossguard that effectively protects the hand from slipping on the blade. The transverse ribbing of the handle provides a comfortable and secure grip, and the additional texture of the linings improves grip.
The knife can be opened with a classic, double-sided pin or a convenient backflipper. The lock is a popular linerlock, which, however, has an additional security in the Cold Steel product. Moving the additional lock not only protects the knife from folding, but also significantly increases the life of the liner. The folder is equipped with a comfortable, wide clip made of plastic. With its help, we can conveniently attach it, for example, on the edge of a pocket. There is also a security cable hole at the end of the handle.
