The NHM-02 hat by the Polish manufacturer, Maskpol, is an important element of the camouflage uniform, in the unique MAPA B camouflage.
The hat is made of high-quality fabric, which is a combination of synthetic polyester fibers with natural cotton in a symmetrical percentage ratio and has the so-called. rip-stop weave, which guarantees increased resistance to tearing or abrasion of the material, which is very important in the case of uniforms or outdoor clothing. The mixture constructed in this way ensures optimal parameters of drying, breathability and durability of the fabric.
The hat has been equipped with an effective ventilation system, on the sides of the hat there are large inserts made of mesh material, which significantly improves the comfort of use in the heat or tropical environment. The hat is fully trimmed with a tape with grommets, dedicated to complementing the camouflage with elements of nature (leaves, twigs). On both sides of the brim, there are eyelets for mounting a chin strap (string not included). The hat is equipped with a small Velcro panel at the top, allowing us to personalize the headgear or identify it in the field via patches.
The hat is produced in two head circumference sizes, i.e.: M 56-58 cm, L 58-60 cm.
The MAPA camouflage was created by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, the author of, among others, publication Theory of visual message deconstruction. Military camouflage design tools (Gdańsk 2015). The innovative project, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, drew the attention of specialists and manufacturers of military clothing.
