Maskpol MP-01 Map Cover - MAPA B
The map case of the Polish manufacturer, Maskpol, is a small pocket for a map and documents in a unique MAPA B camouflage, equipped with an adjustable shockcord to be carried around the neck. It protects the carried equipment against getting wet and dirty.
The map case of the Polish manufacturer, Maskpol, is a small pocket for a map and documents in a unique MAPA B camouflage, equipped with an adjustable shockcord to be carried around the neck. It protects the carried equipment against getting wet and dirty.
The map case has three pockets closed with one Velcro flap and one non-closing back pocket. It is made of very durable Cordura and a transparent thick foil that forms the wall of the first pocket. On the closed flap there is a soft Velcro, allowing us to personalize the pocket with identification patches.
The MAPA camouflage was created by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, the author of, among others, publication Theory of visual message deconstruction. Military camouflage design tools (Gdańsk 2015). The innovative project, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, drew the attention of specialists and manufacturers of military clothing.
MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant is characterized by:
The use of six colors creating layers resembling contour lines on a map
Selection of colors optimized for activities in the forests of Central Europe
The use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and the effect of anamorphosis
Biomorphic shapes that resemble the pattern of vegetation
Highly contrasting elements imitating light and shadows
Using a macro pattern to deform a camouflaged object
Color noise reproduced with a micropattern
