Spyderco Byrd Tern Slip Joint (BY23GP) is a pocket folding knife from the Byrd product line, which offers modern design and proven solutions at an attractive price. A simple and extremely functional knife that does not have a classic blade lock, it is perfect as a spare knife or for everyday use (EDC).
The knife has a Leaf-Shaped blade made of universal 8Cr13MoV steel, which has good cutting properties and is easy to sharpen even in field conditions. As in the flagship knives, there is a hole on the blade characteristic of the Byrd line, thanks to which the knife can be opened efficiently with both the right and left hand.
The knife does not have a classic blade lock, so after opening it is secured by a Slip Joint mechanism. Utilizes an improved notchet-joint spring mechanism to keep the blade open during use. When folding, the incisions generate a smooth resistance as in a knife equipped with a traditional lock. Slip Joint holds the blade in both folded and unfolded positions.
The handle linings are made of light and durable G10 polymer, which, thanks to its fine texture, provides a good grip when handling the knife. There is a metal clip on the handle for convenient carrying in a pocket or belt.
