Kershaw Emerson CQC-5K (6074OLBLK) is an EDC folding knife designed by the American knifemaker Ernest Emerson, with the patented Emerson Wave quick opening system.
The knife has a Clip Point-shaped blade with a smooth cut, made of good quality 8Cr14MoV steel, which provides excellent cutting properties and is easy to sharpen even in field conditions. The blade is additionally secured with a black protective coating, thanks to which the blade is better protected during work.
Blade is equipped with two elements, patented by Emerson, which are used to unfold it. The first is the disc placed on the back of the blade and allows you to easily unfold it with one thumb movement. The second solution is a hook-shaped pin on the blade, which, when drawing the knife, catches the edge of the pocket, as a result of which the blade unfolds instantly.
The disc and the wave hook are symmetrically arranged, which allows for very easy and pleasant operation with both the right and left hand. The blade itself, when open, is secured with a Frame-Lock. The steel blockade strip ensures an appropriate level of security, and the operation is very intuitive.
The handle of the knife is made of sandblasted 410 steel and black G-10 laminate. The contoured shape of the handle and the fine texturing of the composite make the knife very firmly in the hand, and its use is very comfortable. In the rear part of the handle there is a hole for attaching a decorative paracord tail, which makes it easier and faster to remove the knife from the pocket. Discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket is possible thanks to a flexible clip that can be mounted on both sides of the handle.
