Spyderco ARK-Always Ready (SCFB35PBK) is a small, practical knife with a fixed blade, from the American brand Spyderco. Although the basic offer of the manufacturer from Colorado are EDC folders, its assortment also includes interesting classic knives that will prove themselves in a number of applications. Always Ready Knife is a project by US Army veteran John Shirley and his friend Sam Owens.
The knife is designed as a practical tool for personal protection. It is intended to be worn as a neck knife, but you can easily attach it to a belt, for example. Thanks to its small dimensions, ARK is perfect as a typical EDC.
The not very popular H-1 steel was used to make the knife. The choice of this material is associated with its enormous corrosion resistance. H-1 steel is eagerly used by manufacturers who make tools that will come into contact with salt water. Thanks to this property, the knife is completely maintenance-free in everyday use and it will certainly not be harmed by, for example, contact with sweat. The handle of the model is made of FRN material typical for Spyderco. It is nylon, additionally reinforced with glass fiber, which is characterized by high strength and resistance to all conditions.
The blade profile is a clip point with an interesting shape. The cutting edge arc ensures comfortable cutting and the piercing tip allows you to perform any precise work. The medium height, concave cut additionally improves the comfort of working with the tool. On the blade there is a characteristic Spyderco Round Hole, referring to the classic brand folders. The relatively simple-shaped handle has a prominent undercut for the index finger. Thanks to this, the hand is protected against accidental slipping on the blade. The FRN material has been covered with a non-slip, two-way texture (Bi-Directional Texturing), ensuring a secure grip even in the most difficult conditions. There is a hole at the end of the handle for threading an additional security cable.
The Spyderco ARK Always Ready Knife is equipped with a simple, kydex scabbard. Thermoformed material ensures a perfect fit with the knife, ensuring safe carrying, also with the handle downwards. Several holes allow you to attach it to a gear, belt, or classic wearing around the neck.
