Gator Combo II is an innovative set of tools from the American brand Gerber. For years, the company has been looking for new solutions that will work even better in the field. By combining many different functions, it allows you to minimize the amount of equipment you take with you. Gator Combo II is a combination of two tools necessary in outdoor activities - an ax and a wood saw. Thanks to the clever design, these functions have been combined in one fold-out model.
Both blades are made of stainless steel with a high carbon content. As a result, this material is characterized by good impact strength, i.e. resistance to cracks and chipping. Due to their low susceptibility to corrosion, the tools can cope well in a variety of conditions. A bit of moisture is not a problem for them and during field operations we do not have to bother with additional maintenance. The handles are made of nylon reinforced with glass fiber. Like all products in the Gator series, the ax and saw also have inserts made of the patented GatorGrip® material. Special rubber with a texture resembling alligator skin provides comfort and excellent grip, even when working with gloves or, for example, with wet hands.
The ax that makes up the Gerber Gator Combo II is a fairly classic medium-weight construction. This size hatchet works very well as an element of outdoor equipment. The size makes it easy to attach it to a backpack, for example, and the right balance and size of the head guarantee comfortable work with the tool. The biggest innovation is the hollow shaft. This is where the second element of the set is inserted - a handy saw. The magnet attached inside is responsible for holding both elements together. The handles of both tools have been profiled to ensure maximum comfort and safety of use. Special undercuts give the fingers a firm grip, and in combination with the GatorGrip® technology they guarantee the best grip. The kit comes with a durable nylon cover that allows you to safely carry your tools.
Gator Combo II is an exceptionally well-thought-out Gerber brand project. Two practical tools can cope with tasks such as chopping wood, cutting branches and various camp work. By combining them in a compact form, it is possible to reduce the amount of equipment taken without losing functionality.
