The Patrol backpack from the Polish manufacturer, Maskpol, is a 40-liter backpack designed for 2-3 day reconnaissance activities. Thanks to the extensive MOLLE platforms located on the side walls of the backpack, we gain the ability to expand the backpack with any pockets based on this modular system and increase its capacity. Backpack in a unique MAPA B camouflage.

The Patrol backpack has a decomposition structure, thanks to the two-way zipper by KROKO, sewn in the shape of an inverted U, we are able to open the entire top flap, the front wall integrated with it and the bottom, separating them from the side walls. The construction used allows you to quickly get to almost every corner of the backpack in order to get the necessary equipment. On the plane of the front panel, in the part that is the upper flap of the backpack, there is a large pocket closed with a two-way zipper. Below, at the top of the front wall of the backpack, there is a small area of soft Velcro, intended for the installation of identification patches. On both sides of the front of the backpack, there are narrow, vertically sewn webbing tapes, creating two vertical rows of loops through which an elastic shockcord line with an adjustable welt is intertwined. This design allows for any redesign of the used stretcher with elastic cord. It can be moved higher or lower in relation to the entire front wall, this interlacing can be thickened or thinned, we can intertwine another line to create two separate, dense elastic stretchers or one with double adjustment of the tension force, freedom of re-configuration of the front wall of the backpack is limited only by the user's imagination. In addition, on the front of the backpack you will find four vertical d-rings in two rows, allowing you to attach an additional pocket or scroll two webbing tapes towards the carrying system, which also has two vertical d-rings on each side, the use of such additional protection when excessive load, will protect against unfavorable stresses affecting the lock of the main chamber. At the top of the backpack and right after the end of the upper flap, there are four horizontal d-rings intended for the installation of a carrier for helmets or mountain helmets, or for attaching a sleeping mat or sleeping bag. At the bottom of the backpack, along the carrying system, there is a small pocket fastened with Velcro, inside which there is a rain cover dedicated to the backpack in question (included by the manufacturer) and a loop for attaching the cover and securing it against uncontrolled slipping. The side walls of the backpack, from the outside, are equipped with large pockets fastened with a zipper, extending over the entire surface of the side walls. In the lower part of each of the side wings, there are open pockets trimmed with elastic tape, intended for carrying water bottles or similar equipment. These pockets have mesh material inserts along the lower edges, allowing precipitation and light soiling to drain freely. Under the entire surface of the carrying system there is a pocket closed with a two-way zipper, dedicated to carrying the hydration system. Inside this pocket, at the very top, we will find a hole for a hydration tube, closed with a Velcro flap and a loop for hanging a hydration tank.

The entire inner, back wall of the backpack is covered with a soft Velcro, which allows you to freely organize the carried equipment in the containers, installed with a hard Velcro on this wall. The manufacturer includes three pieces of such containers in different heights: 13, 19 and 28 cm high, with the same depth and width: 14 cm deep and 28 cm wide. These containers have the structure of single-chamber containers made of soft material, closed with a two-way zipper, located on the side and bottom edge of the front wall of each container. In addition, each container has a carrying handle at the top and a small Velcro panel on the front wall, allowing you to install patches and mark the loaded equipment. On the side edges of the inner, back wall, there are three loops with d-rings, which allow you to attach additional or completely separate pouches inside the backpack, or roll webbing straps through them and create additional straps, attaching the loaded equipment to the back wall of the backpack and reducing the stresses affecting the the zipper of the main compartment, which is the only binder of the side walls and the front panel of the backpack. On the inside of the front wall of the backpack there is an open mesh pocket with thick mesh, extending to the entire height of the front. Above this pocket, on the plane of the front wall, which is already the upper flap of the backpack, there is a small mesh pocket, closed with a zipper.
The side walls of the backpack have the same structure, on the inside, at the top of both wings, there are mesh pockets with large mesh, closed with zippers. Below the aforementioned pockets, there are spacious, open mesh pockets, trimmed with an elastic drawstring.

The backpack is made entirely of 500 Den Cordura, it is a very light material and resistant to any mechanical damage, abrasions and tears, an additional advantage of this fabric is that it does not tear, even if the material is cut, the resulting hole will not widen further . All the walls of the backpack are filled with stiffening foam with thermal insulation properties, protecting the inside of the backpack against unfavorable weather conditions and mechanical damage to the equipment placed inside.

The carrying system of the backpack consists of profiled shoulder straps, thermo-formed back, hip belt and transport handle. The shoulder straps have been profiled to ensure a comfortable and stable distribution of the carried weight, additionally, the inner side is covered with a fabric that ensures good adhesion and eliminates the risk of abrasions during long-term wear. The harness is equipped with a stabilizing, adjustable chest strap and QUASM (Quick Attach Surface Mount) buckles with the option of installing a quick release cord on the male parts of the buckles. The straps on the outside have been trimmed with tape, allowing for the installation of accessories and strengthening the load-bearing structure. The back is made of heat-molded spacer foam, covered with a fabric that is pleasant to the touch, and has a special arrangement of grooves, ensuring optimal air circulation and high comfort of use. The hip belt is integrated with the backpack, has a bilateral adjustment system, two support points on each side, and when not used, it can be hidden in a special slot at the bottom of the back. At the top of the carrying system, just above the harness attachment point, there is a large transport handle, which will certainly facilitate the placement of the backpack in transport and subsequent unloading. The loop of the transport handle is large enough to easily pull the luggage in tactical gloves.

The MAPA camouflage was created by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, the author of, among others, publication Theory of visual message deconstruction. Military camouflage design tools (Gdańsk 2015). The innovative project, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, drew the attention of specialists and manufacturers of military clothing.

MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant is characterized by:

Highly contrasting elements imitating light and shadows
Using a macro pattern to deform a camouflaged object
