The Lowa Combat Boot MK2 GTX Boots is a completely new generation of tactical footwear, designed without compromise to meet the high demands of professional users. The tall upper was made using high-quality grain leather, which offers durability against a variety of weather conditions. In addition, the grain leather has open pores and can retain its properties for many years if properly cared for. The leather is also impregnated with Rayflex pigments that reflect sunlight, which significantly reduces and slows heat build-up inside the shoe. This feature makes it easier to work outside, especially in summer.
In the flex zone of the upper, the amount of stitching has been reduced to an absolute minimum, which significantly contributes to comfort and durability in this important area. An additional element of the upper are certified pads of the ankle area (an additional requirement of AN), which are designed to protect against impact injuries. Protection of the inner and outer parts of the ankle is provided by PORON® padding. This material is characterized by particularly high shock absorption, and ankle protection is especially important when working in difficult terrain.
The GTX version also features a high-performance GORE-TEX® Professional membrane, which is designed to provide waterproofing, wind protection and wick excess moisture away from the skin. Regardless of the type of activity, the GORE-TEX membrane technology will ensure a high level of wearing comfort even during intense activity or fluctuating temperatures.
The shoe's lacing system consists of fully enclosed metal grommets, in which durable laces are interwoven. In addition, the two-zone arrangement of the vias allows for proper adjustment and stabilization of the ankle joint. Another new feature is an elastic pocket on the tongue of the shoe, where the tied laces can be hidden and secured.
Responsible for the inconspicuous lightness of the shoes is the construction of the sole, whose appropriately shaped base, provides anatomical support for the midfoot and is largely responsible for high comfort during very long marches. The midsole uses polyurethane of two different densities to effectively stabilize and cushion the feet. Lowa Combat Boot MK2 GTX model uses a new Vibram Vanguard outsole, which, thanks to a properly selected rubber compound and special tread, significantly provides grip on slippery ground. In addition, the sole as a whole is anti-static and provides thermal protection from contact with both warm and cold ground.
Complementing the cushioning system is an inner insole, made of a soft upper layer with a dense mesh structure and a stiffer lower layer. The insole is interchangeable and can be replaced with another manufacturer's insole or ErgoPad orthotic inserts as needed.
