The high upper protects the ankle joint from injury and is made of natural suede leather and lightweight nylon material. The lack of a membrane provides even better ventilation, which is important in warmer seasons or desert climates. In addition, for better protection against mechanical damage, the heel and toe sections are trimmed with additional reinforcements in these sensitive areas.
The Merrell Tactical MQC 3 Force Boots are designed for maximum functionality and comfort, even in the most demanding conditions. That's why it uses a non-slip VIBRAM® TC5+ sole, which guarantees exceptional traction while being extremely lightweight. The multi-layer sole also features a cushioning EVA foam layer, significantly reducing the weight of the footwear while providing comfort and protection. The newly developed and thoroughly tested TC5+ tread uses an aggressive profile that provides faster self-cleaning from mud and other debris. With a depth of about 5mm, the tread significantly improves grip, especially in muddy conditions.
Another innovative feature is the Air Cushion, which absorbs kinetic energy when jumping and running with a heavy pack, providing additional protection and comfort. The midsole's Super Rebound Compound layer not only offers cushioning, but also enhances foot rebound, making it easier to take more steps. In addition, Rock Plate Protection technology protects the foot from injury caused by stepping on a sharp stone, raising the level of protection for the wearer's foot.
Climbing Zone technology, used in the front part of the sole, makes climbing easier thanks to a special flattening at the toe. This allows for a better feel of the ground and increases traction, whether the wearer is traversing a slick terrain or a rocky slope. Protecting the nose pads with additional rubber not only strengthens the shoe, but also provides a point of attachment, which is crucial when walking on varied terrain.
The sole design is complemented by a COMFORTBASE™ insole made of flexible EVA foam, which provides not only additional comfort, but also effective ventilation. Thanks to specially designed channels and holes under the toes, the insole forces air circulation, which significantly reduces the risk of overheating and sweating of the feet. Molding of the insole in the instep and heel area provides adequate support and flexibility, and the breathable mesh padded surface dries quickly to prevent chafing. The ability to remove the insole for drying and laundering is another feature that highlights the practicality and functionality of the Merrell Tactical MQC 3 Force Boots.
