The Snugpak Tomahawk Cold Weather Insulated Jacket is a winter jacket with synthetic Sofie filling, which is designed to protect against low temperatures down to -20°C. The technical design ensures perfect fit to the body, while allowing freedom of movement in difficult terrain conditions. This is irreplaceable protection against extreme frost and wind.
The outer part of the jacket is made of lightweight Paratex Lite nylon material, which is characterized by a high windproofness factor (0.085m3/ 1 min.) and vapor permeability (12l/m²/24h). It perfectly wicks away moisture and the additional DWR (Durable Water Repellent) impregnation acts as a protective coating and slows down the absorption of water by the fabric. To extend the waterproof properties of the fabric, it is possible to use refinishing sprays such as Nikwax or Grangers.
The jacket uses the proven Softie® synthetic filling, which is successfully used in the Snugpak product range. Exceptionally thin fibers, held together with special resins, allow for obtaining a structure and properties similar to natural down. Unlike traditional methods used in many synthetic fills, Softie® better works and performance like natural insulation.
One of the key advantages of Softie® is its ability to maintain thermal properties even when wet. This means that in case of contact with moisture, the filling still serves as thermal protection, which is especially important during extreme weather conditions.
The Softie® insulation production process uses a variety of techniques, which creates a more random arrangement of fibers that binds air, making insulation exceptionally effective. Additionally, Softie® is easy to care for, so the jacket retains its insulating properties for a longer time. It is a solution that combines performance, comfort and reliability, providing users with protection against cold, moisture and wind in unfavorable conditions.
The Tomahawk jacket is also very functional. Equipped with numerous details, such as a fully insulated, detachable hood with a visor that can be adjusted with drawstrings. The design itself has an extended back, which allows you to protect your lower back when squatting. The jacket has two classic pockets at the bottom, which, thanks to the inside lining with soft, brushed polyester, allow you to warm your hands faster. Additional pockets are located on the left shoulder and on the chest, and there is a smaller pocket inside the jacket, so you have space for storage and quick access to smaller items of equipment.
