The Maskpol City PMC-01 backpack - MAPA of Polish production, by Maskpol, is a compact and lightweight EDC backpack with a capacity of 18 liters. It was made of lightweight Cordura 770 dtex, which ensures very high resistance to mechanical damage, abrasion and tearing of the material. The backpack consists of a main compartment closed with a two-way zipper, a front administration pocket fastened vertically with a zipper, two open, side pockets with a mesh structure for bottled drinks or a water bottle and a back pocket with a two-way zipper, located between the main compartment and the back.
Inside the main compartment there is a compartment for a laptop or hydration, closed with a Velcro strap. Above this partition there is a loop and a hole closed with a flap with Velcro, intended for exiting the hydration system. On the front wall of the main compartment there is a zippered pocket with a mesh structure. Inside the front pocket of the backpack there is a small compartment for documents with a mesh pocket installed on it and a set of organizers and grommets for smaller items and writing instruments. On the front of the backpack there is a small Velcro identification panel, thanks to which we can personalize the backpack with patches. Below the identification panel, there are four loops with d-rings in two rows, allowing for the installation of additional equipment on the wall of the backpack, additionally, a shockcord is intertwined under them, which is great for carrying outerwear in changing weather conditions. At the top of the backpack there is a durable transport handle.
The carrying system of the backpack consists of a back made of heat-molded spacer foam covered with fabric and detachable, adjustable and profiled shoulder straps equipped with a stabilizing chest strap. The shoulder straps along the entire length are trimmed with webbing tape, enabling the installation of additional equipment.
The MAPA camouflage was created by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, the author of, among others, publication Theory of visual message deconstruction. Military camouflage design tools (Gdańsk 2015). The innovative project, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, drew the attention of specialists and manufacturers of military clothing.
MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant is characterized by:
