The ESEE Model 5 is a fixed blade knife with the highest power reserve of all the basic models of the American brand. Thanks to its dimensions and the materials used, the tool is perfect for the toughest field work, such as chopping or baring, as well as in specialized tactical activities.
The knife is made of durable 1095 carbon steel. This material is highly resistant to chipping and cracking, which is particularly important in such a large tool. Due to the susceptibility of steel to corrosion, the blade was covered with a special powder coating. A durable micarta was used for the handle.
The shape of the knife is noticeably different from other products in the series, such as the Model 3 or 4. Although the blade also has a Drop-Point profile, the main difference is the use of a lower, much more durable cut. The ESEE Model 5 also does not have the index finger undercut, typical of smaller knives, as its basic functions are not cutting, but chopping or baring. The handle of the knife is profiled much more than in its smaller counterparts. This gives an exceptionally good support, which is extremely important when performing the toughest tasks. The ESEE Model 5 is, of course, made of full-tang construction, which guarantees maximum durability. Like the smaller models, this knife is also equipped with a hole for a securing line. The end of the handle can be successfully used as a glass breaker or an improvised hammer.
The ESEE Model 5 is equipped with a practical steath made of thermoformed plastic. It guarantees full safety and high comfort of using the cover. Numerous holes allow the knife to be attached to equipment, e.g. a backpack, and the attached mounting systems allow it to be worn e.g. on a belt or in a pocket.
