Gerber Strongarm Serrated Blade knife is one of the leading positions in the offer of the American brand. This model is a direct predecessor of a true classic - the LMF II Infantry. Like him, it is a construction designed as a survival knife, addressed primarily to soldiers and special forces operators.
Strongarm blade is made of 420HC stainless steel. This is an improved version of the classic four hundred and twenty, with an increased carbon content (HC comes from the words High Carbone). This translates into much better impact strength, i.e. resistance to chipping and cracking. Nevertheless, due to its high chromium content, 420HC is very little susceptible to corrosion. The knife also works great wherever it is exposed to moisture. The handle is made of very durable nylon reinforced with glass fiber. In addition, it has been covered with coyote brown rubber. Thanks to the special diamond-texture®, it is characterized by excellent adhesion, even when working with wet hands or using gloves.
The Strongarm model with its design and dimensions fits perfectly into the category of ten-inch survival knives. The shape of the blade is a typical drop point. This profile is characterized by exceptional versatility, thanks to which the tool will work in most camp work, tactical activities, etc. The model uses a combo blade. The sharp, serrated edge is great for cutting fibrous materials and ropes, and the smooth part can be used for other, more precise jobs. The shape of the handle ensures a perfect grip of the knife. The tapers give good support to the fingers, and the widening of the central part fills the hand comfortably. A large handguard prevents the hand from slipping onto the blade during harder work, and at the same time acts as a ramp for the thumb. The handle has deep ribs in several places, which additionally improves the grip. At its end there is a sharp tab, which we will successfully use as an emergency glass breaker or a makeshift hammer. There is also a hole in it that allows you to thread a safety cable.
The Gerber Strongarm Fixed Blade is equipped with a durable sheath, in a coyote brown color consistent with the knife. This exceptionally well-thought-out design is made of injection-molded polymer, which ensures a perfect fit to the knife. The scabbard allows you to carry the knife in many different ways, and it is fully adjustable.
